Good morning! Here is another "day in my life" post..no one screamed that they hated the last one, so I figured to include them more often.

I think this morning was the first time that I had woke up and didn't noticed or remember waking up multiple times throughout the night. I have no clue why, but it takes me soooo long to adjust to the time zone and sleep schedule when coming back to London from the States. For those who know me, you know that without sleep I am a hot mess. I'll give you an example: my flatmate, who loves Taylor Swift religiously, was excited by the new album drop sent us one of the lyrics she liked. Instead of reading Satan, I read Santa. I was so confused why the jolly big man was suddenly in Taylors' new album until my flatmate caught my confusion and pointed it out. I erupted with laughter on a nearly silent District line train traveling to Tower Hill..I must have looked crazy. Long story short, I was happy to wake up feeling rested.
Since I was the only flatmate that was home this weekend (they all went off to their boyfriends'), I decided the flat needed a deep clean. I find cleaning to be so therapeutic for me as I do better when my space is clean and tidy. I also did what felt like seven loads of laundry because, naturally, I had put it all off until last minute. My current flat project is our bathroom/toilet situation, which had me asking ChatGBT to convert feet and inches into centimeters at least 8 times. Our shower head reaches my shoulders at best, I am 5'9", which is already kinda tall for a girl so its ridiculous to have to crouch for a shower. So, I went to Amazon and found a suction-cup shower head holder, a new shower head hose, and other bits to try and make this space usable.
I then went on my run, I try to go three times a week and I am currently training for a 10k. I think I want to do the Fulham 10k because, everyone in their mid-twenties is either getting married or running a race —so let's run. I also love the idea of my first race being in the borough where I first started running. I’ve been debating signing up, and I think I’ll finally do it this week. It's been super windy in London as Storm Amy has barreled through the UK and Ireland so I make sure to dress a bit warmer then usual. My goal today was 6.44 km (4 miles)—my longest run to date and I did it!! I ran all the way to Wimbledon Park, looped around, and then back home to my flat. I get lost twice, I'm still trying to figure out my new home!
When I got back I started to tackle my European Union reading from last week and hope to finish my Child Law and Land Law readings done tonight or early tomorrow morning. I will hopefully have a post out this week talking about my first last week of my LLB and my thoughts. I think its important that I share the excitement but also the reality of life at uni. I also applied for a cohort representative position for the Women in Law Society on campus —I think it would be fun and a good CV booster. I wasnt super active my first year on campus and my goal this year has been to branch out more and try new things.
As I am writing this, I am finishing up my dinner of soup and grilled cheese with this weather it just felt right. I'll settle in for the night, read a book, and do the rest of my homework with a cup of tea until my flatmate comes home to tell me about her exciting weekend.
I hope this little Sunday reset has been fun to read and I promise I will be a bit more active this week on sharing my life!
